The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announced today its second annual Pursuit of the Podium. Four individuals are competing in this year’s fundraiser.
Contestants include Dr. Michael Chapman, Orthopedic Surgeon at Medical Associates; Bob Peacock, Executive Vice President at American Trust & Savings Bank; Gina Siegert, Publisher of Julien’s Journal; and Byron Taylor, General Manager at John Deere Dubuque Works.
The contestant that raises the most money on behalf of the DSO between February 7 and April 7 will conduct one piece at the free Summer Melodies concert at the Dubuque Arboretum on Sunday, June 29, 2014.
“We have a wonderful group of individuals competing in this year’s race to the podium,” said DSO Executive Director Deb Sandry. "They are not only enthusiastic about our concert offerings, but also our education and outreach programs such as the Arts Trek Concerts and Adopt a Musician Program. They’ve done photo shoots, put together mailing lists, and their life-size cutouts will soon be making appearances around town. It’s fun to see it all come together!”
