Singer, dancer, actor, director, and choreographer Craig Allen has been described as an exemplary soloist (Kansas City Star) with a brilliant nimble voice (KC Metropolis). As an actor/singer, he has been seen in numerous productions, including She Loves Me, Carmen, Cabaret, and Anything Goes. He has performed in theatres across the country, including the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City and Wagon Wheel in Warsaw, Indiana.
Craig is also an accomplished dancer and has participated in numerous dance shows. He has had featured roles in the ballets Cinderella and Nutcracker and attended the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC, for several summers. In addition to singing, he finds his voice through movement when dancing and choreographing. In addition to singing, he finds his voice through movement when choreographing. His directing and choreographing credits include 9 to 5, Down in the Valley, Dubuque Chorale’s Breaking Boundaries, Memphis, In the Heights, Dogfight, West Side Story, and White Christmas.
Craig has been soloist with numerous ensembles, including the Dubuque Chorale, Musica Vocale, Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, Walla Walla Symphony, Whitman College Chorale and Orchestra, Loras College, and the Mid-Columbia Chorale. Mr. Allen has been vocal instructor at many institutions and maintains a private studio. Craig has a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri-KC Conservatory of Music and Dance and degrees in voice, theatre and a minor in dance from Texas Tech University.
