Violinist Clayton Tillotson earned his Master of Music from University of Wisconsin-Madison as a student of David Perry in 2016. He completed an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory in Toronto, where he studied with Paul Kantor and Barry Shiffman, and received a Bachelor of Music from UW-Madison in 2011. Originally from Iowa, Mr. Tillotson has performed as first violinist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Iowa, Quad City Symphony, among others. He has spent many summers studying and performing at the Aspen Music Festival and School, Meadowmount School of Music, Rocky Ridge Music Center, and the Caroga Lake Music Festival. He has performed as soloist with the Southeast Iowa Symphony and appeared on Wisconsin Public Radio’s “The Midday” as a member of the Hunt Quartet. Clayton plays a violin from 1863 by Nicholas Eugene Simoutre and a bow by Joseph Arthur Vigneron circa 1895.
